Meet the owner!
Hi! I'm Tracie Jones
Hi Guys, I’m Tracie! ππΌ For the past 6 years I was fortunate to be The Director of Education at the Actors Youth Theatre, a music director, and for the last 3 years the Executive Artistic Director. β
After losing my vision 3 years ago I went full force into figuring out life and doing as much as I could for as many people as I could. And I’ve absolutely loved it! β
β In this new chapter, I’ve stepped back from AYT in order to do some personal growth, attend blind school and put my focus into what I love most which is to educate, mentor and train students to show them what it takes to physically, emotionally and mentally become artists and entrepreneurs in the performing arts industry. β
More....
My 35 years of experience has seen me grow from the student to the teacher, the performer, the director, and the producer. My passion is to create new opportunities and programs for my students that will prepare them for the industry and get them ready for when opportunities arise. β
Over the years I’ve met some stellar artists and professionals who have joined to help form the creative team here at CounterPoint, and I can’t wait for you to meet them all!
We’ve used our years of experience within the industry to package together a well-rounded and applicable training program that’ll help further your knowledge and skills in performing arts as well as challenge and empower you to create a work ethic and environment that’s successful. The program is PERFECT for if you’re headed off to college or starting to work professionally, and it will give you the tools, experience, and training to help you succeed. β β
We can’t wait for you to see more. Welcome to Counterpoint!Β
Q&A
1.
Love to spend time with my nieces and nephews any chance I can!
As a child if I wasn’t playing or singing music I was outside on a hard one or a horse! Also love to swing
dance. And spent quite a few years traveling and competing in my 20s.
2.
As a child I just loved music and it started with the piano. Starting lessons at 3 and then by the time I was 14 my teacher informed me that she would no longer be teaching me, but that I would now be teaching. And haven’t stopped since. Just kept trying to learn as much as I could and help as many as I could along the way.
3.
Absolutely love and work hard to help others find their creative voices and learn how to express them with technique, musicality and artistry. And how to think, not only as an artist but as an entrepreneur.
It’s what I’ve spent the majority of my life submerged in and hope to help others!
